Sergio Mendes and Brasil ’66 – Herb Alpert Presents Sergio Mendes and Brasil ’66: This is probably just as hip now as it was when it came out. Very groovy, very fun. There’s no way you can be still when you put this on.

Camera ObscuraMy Maudlin Career: Their new record, which is getting lots of plays everywhere. It’s got a great classic pop sound and pretty instant appeal. See if you can listen to the lead single without it getting totally stuck in your head for a few days.

Jens Lekman’s Summer Never Ends mix: This is an mp3 mix available on his website composed of a bit of disco, classic pop and some bits of Jens’s own stuff. It’s put together really well, and is a thoroughly entertaining half hour. Particularly the bit where he takes the one-sided phone conversation from Alicia Keys’s “You Don’t Know My Name” and splices in a dorky Swedish guy. Ah Jens, so fly.

Mi Ami – Watersports: There’s a review here on the site from when this came out which says everything, but I was just listening to this again the other day, and damn, it’s good.
