Relevant To Your Interests #017

August 13, 2009
  • The Got to Get Gay Got are on the way home from a tour and are making a stop at Akhord in Saint John Friday night. I still haven’t heard their new record Sahalee because it’s so far not up for stealin’ on the internet and they haven’t played in my town since it came out. To add insult to injury, my local record store sold its lone copy before I made it in to grab it. Will I have better luck this Saturday? I hope so!
  • The Halifax Pop Explosion announced some more performers last week, including MSTRKRFT. HeroHill has the scoop, including preview tracks from a bunch of headliners.
  • Our friends at Junnnktank posted an interview with Massachusetts’s Sinaloa this week. I’m amazed anyone other than me has heard of these guys. Someone bring them up here, k?
  • Corporate music labels are responsible for piracy and iTunes won’t save them. O RLY?
  • The end of indie?
  • Matador Records owner Gerard Cosloy’s house burns down, Tony Brummel from Victory Records is a total dick about it. Wait, what?
  • EMI is releasing a boxed set of Morrissey singles, but Moz doesn’t want anyone to buy it. Oh Morrissey, you so cray-zay.
  • Sigur Ros wrote a raw food cookbook?
