Iggy Pop: traces of nuts

September 5, 2009

As you may or may not have heard, the Raw Power-era Stooges recently announced they are reuniting for the NY version of the All Tomorrow’s Parties festival, which is happening next weekend at Kutshers Country Club, in Monticello, NY. I would love to see the Stooges (and the Jesus Lizard, the Melvins, Shellac, Boss Hog, David Cross, and Bob Mould singing Hüsker Dü songs) at a country club in up-state New York, wouldn’t you?

Anyway, here’s some vintage Iggy and the Stooges, including the now famous peanut butter incident, filmed at the 1970 Cincinnati Pop Festival:

I saw the Stooges. Then they got robbed the next day. Then Ron Asheton died. Now James Williamson is back? I wonder if Iggy’s gonna start banging again.

I know I’d sure like to see Suicide performing their first album at a country club in up-state New York.

There’s so much good stuff at that festival this year.
